It’s perhaps not wholly surprising that Minimally intricate and precisely composed – the paintings of Gosia Poraj arrange their elements with a refined expression and sensibility of a designer.

So it’s no surprise the Polish born, London based artist holds more than one string to her bow with a background in both the fine arts and design.

Gosia describes her work as an attempt to convey her close relationship with nature. Ephemeral and blurry recollections of places drift into impressions and feelings. It’s these materials of the senses that Gosia lyrically translates into visual forms of shape and colour.

Often appearing in places like paper cut outs, each painting is meticulously painted on paper using ink and gouache.

About The Artist

Gosia Poraj was born in Poland in 1982 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (specialising in printmaking). She now lives and works in London.
