I’m seriously considering buying one of these screenprint editions myself.

A friend of mine owns an original Henrik Simonsen print and I’m thinking about stealing that too.

What I love about Simonsen’s work is his commitment to the screenprinting process.

Simonsen says himself on artrepublic that he enjoys making something original in print because “it’s a much more interesting way of working as you are not trying to make a print look like an original.”

You only need to look at the details of each print to see commitment played out – Hemlock Blue is a 15 colour screenprint and Amber Dusk has 15.

The crowning display is Gold Dusk where Simonsen has hand applied gold and copper leaf over a 19 colour screenprint.

The results are mesmerisingly beautiful.
