Santiago Vanegas – Antarctica #2929
Photography: edition 1/15. Archival inkjet print on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper (51 x 61cm). Photographer Santiago Vanegas describes Antarctica as “a place where the miniscule and the monumental are mutually epic.”
These ‘ice mountains’ of the ocean have always been an alluring and captivating sight for me. Composed of pure fresh water yet often found silently floating on salt water seas. Belonging but not of. Colossal yet fleeting. Majestic yet slowly disintegrating. Their ephemeral nature is what makes them so hypnotic and beautiful.
So I decided to go on a hunt for some of the best images of icebergs I could find by artists, photographers and printmakers and collect them all here in one place.
